PARTICIDADE is a project aimed at implementing participatory planning for services in cities and educational communities in Mozambique.

Co-financed by AICS, the project started in April 2018 and will last for two years.

The PARTICIDADE project is aimed at improving the systems of territorial governance and services through institutional strengthening and the expertise of the Municipalities of Maputo and Pemba following three lines of action:

Urban planning. Urban planning interventions and regeneration processes will be based on an integrated urban and social methodology, involving local communities together with local authorities in all phases of project development and implementation.

Education. Definition and development of a participatory approach with the active involvement of teachers and staff from the third sector who, starting from the point of view of children, will participate in the re-definition of educational services and the design of extra-curricular activities.

Professional Development. Strengthening the ability of municipalities to offer professional development for adults and youth, initially training public officials and training bodies / associations on possible improvements and expansions of services for the employment of the youngest and most disadvantaged groups, and then carrying out literacy courses and vocational training.
