PACE – Partnership for a new approach to early childhood education is a research project in collaboration with Reggio Terzo Mondo, Fondazione Reggio Children – Centro Loris Malaguzzi and the Institution of Schools and Infant-toddler Centres of the Municipality of Reggio Emilia, the Palestinian Ministry of Education, the cultural association Ibda’a and the Latin, Greek-Catholic and Greek-Orthodox Patriarchates of Jerusalem. The project is co-financed by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation.
Over a three year period (2018-2021), PACE is committed to promoting the activation of an integrated public-private education system starting from three main areas:
-Qualifying training by creating contexts for exchange with ministerial and university staff, and the activation of specific dialogues with teachers at 60 public and private preschools in the West Bank;
-Rethinking the quality of educational environments to encourage the design of welcoming spaces for parents, teachers and children;
-Supporting educational activities through the opening of a Pilot Centre for Creative Reuse of natural and waste materials in Bethlehem. The centre will also offer training initiatives and workshops for teachers.
