The Consiglio Nazionale degli Architetti Pianificatori Paesaggisti e Conservatori in dialogue with Fondazione Reggio Children – Centro Loris Malaguzzi have promoted a research project between education and architecture, starting from the idea that people, but first of all children and young people, must be at the heart of a project about the city of the future.
Different types of territories were involved, including big cities, suburbs and areas of particular complexity, where more than 1.500 children and young people between 3 and 18 years old have been included with their teachers through the activation of territorial co-design tables together with architects and designers.
It has been asked to the architects and the teachers to support and collect the ideas and the suggestions of the children and young people and thus becoming promoters of the concepts and the possibilities that emerged from these meetings.
The project started in November 2018 and developed over the course of the school year through periodical meetings carried out in each territory by the architects in collaboration with the teachers, which enabled to link together the single experiences in a unitary project.
